Growing aromatic herbs and vegetables in urban environments with a semi-hydroponic system

With sensitivity, awareness and commitment, The Urban Permaculture aims to strengthen and expand the power of photosynthesis (accompanied by Co2 reduction!) in our urban lifestyle. The focus of our project is therefore geared towards sharing knowledge and learning how to grow leafy greens, aromatics and some roots, easily and sustainably at home, simply by using your own resources and above all your imagination. Because today it is more necessary than ever to observe, feel and act together.

One of the biggest challenges when growing in the city is space. Our semi-hydroponic system combines the classic cultivating plants in substrate with the hydroponic techniques, in which nutrients and fertilizers are supplied exclusively in liquid form. With our system, the plants are first supplied with nutrients through the substrate and only need a bright spot to absorb solar energy and grow. The substrate is not watered directly, but the planters are filled up and serve as a reservoir. The roots will find the water. For optimal plant health, the water should be regularly enriched with nutrients (→ recipe for the fertilizer).

We offer 100% organic seeds and substrate, only sustainable materials from Europe to grow from home with minimum space.
Our semi-hydroponic system is sustainable, long-lasting, and allows you to grow more with fewer resources: Less space, less water, less soil, less maintenance. Nothing needs to be repotted! With our urban growing kits, you can easily grow, enjoy the harvest in your dishes cooking delicious recipes while taking a step further to green your city.

As a European who has lived in France, Germany and Catalonia, I believe that together we can all green our cities with #EdiblePhotosynthesis!
